The purpose of the National Honor Society shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage development of character in the students of RHS.
Literary Rally
February 2019 - Present
Literary Rally is an event in which students compete against students from other high schools in various levels of English, French, Computer Science, Latin, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. Literary Rally is one of the largest and oldest academic competitions. This is one of the highest honors a student can receive in high school, as teachers only select their best students to represent their work throughout the year. I have been personally selected for Literary rally two years in a row. I won first place in the district in the sociology event last year. This year I am competing in Accounting II, so wish me luck!

I won this award at the Speech and Debate Banquet last year. I won this award because I placed at numerous competitions that year. Out of all my awards and honors, this has meant the most to me.

Similar to Speech and Debate, I have a copious amount of awards from Science Olympiad. I have won geologic mapping, experimental design, boomilever, and chemistry lab.

Science Olympiad, Captain
August 2017 - PRESENT
Science Olympiad is an American team competition in which students compete in 23 events pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. I built this club from nothing. Last year, I was the only one showing up to practices, but this year I put in the work and recruited tons of kids from all walks of life. The club did a complete 180. Before the club was a desolate place that was the laughing stock of the school, but since I became captain, The club has been restored to its former glory with the help of myself and my coach, Mrs. Campbell.
Speech and Debate, Novice Captain
August 2016 - PRESENT
Speech and debate provide students an opportunity to develop skills in research, critical thinking, organization, persuasion, and communication. Students must set aside personal bias and previous knowledge to objectively debate both sides of an issue. If students want to explore the speech side of the club, they can compete amongst other students by either acting or performing a speech or script.
Speech and Debate have truly been my savior. This club changed my life for the better. It has expanded my horizons. Additionally, Speech and Debate has either changed or solidified my beliefs. This club will build your confidence and communication skills. There are so many great life skills you will learn in this club. I'm just so elated that I can share the benefits and experience of Speech and Debate with my novices, as expressed in my video.

FBLA is the largest national student business organization in the world.FBLA is recognized nationally and offers opportunities to attend district, state, and national conferences to socialize and compete in multiple areas and network with other members throughout the world.
