Education History
I attended Clare Public Schools from 2nd grade to my senior year. I will graduate with 4 year consecutive honor roll cords, NHS stole, red cord for blood donations, and 4 year band student medal. I plan to further my education at Alma College with my undergraduate in psychology. I will then go on for my graduate in mental health counseling.
Awards
Through my college, I've received $33,800 worth of financial aid. The awards are broken into Scholars Summit Award ($3,500), Tartan Award ($22,000), Vocal Performance Scholarship ($1,500), Additional Alma Award ($2,000), Alma Heritage Need Based Grant ($1,300), and Referral Award ($1,500). I've been estimated to receive $2,000 in State Grant. I received a $500 scholarship through the Clare County Community Foundation, and have more awards coming, but I'm unsure of what they are because I have not had my Seniors Night yet.
Additional Info
Although my education is very important to me, helping those who need it is much more important. That's why I chose the field that I'm going into. Mental health is very overlooked, and it's something I feel very passionate about. I also love to help others as much as I can; I volunteer at my local animal shelter twice a week, and when my time is done I would have volunteered for about 3 months straight. While I do love the satisfaction of helping others, it's my passion that continues to motivate me.
Additional Info
I've been in band since the 6th grade, and have managed to hold two leadership positions and first chair for two years during my time. While I love music very much, I decided against playing an instrument in college. I will be singing in the choir though; singing has always been a big part of my life and a passion for me.
Employment History
I worked at Arby's for a little over a year. During my time there, I developed excellent customer service skills and managing money quickly. I'm currently employed at a local restaurant (temporary unemployment due to the COVID-19 pandemic) where I've lived to be quick on my feet and clean things quickly and efficiently.
Community Service
History
I've done a bit of community service through my school, such as Feed My Starving Children, Clare Pride Day, and blood drives. I currently volunteer at an animal shelter twice a week, from 8 A.M.-11 A.M. Any chance I get, I'm helping people.
