The summer before my sophomore year, I began lifeguarding at the Chesterfield Athletic Club. I lifeguarded on a consistent basis each week through that summer and the following summer. Last summer, I started working as a camp counselor for the athletic club and by helping out in tennis camps and clinics. I worked most weeks, Monday through Friday, watching the kids, ensuring they were safe, playing games, and teaching them basic tennis skills. Through more advanced tennis camps, I had the opportunity to teach young kids all about tennis and hopefully instill a love for tennis in them.
Community Service
History
Junior year, I was inducted into National Honor Society where I am expected to maintain a high GPA and serve my community. Through this organization, I have had the privilege of serving others through events such as filling bags of food for the hungry, helping Hispanic elementary students in school, working at a Christmas tree farm, babysitting for PTO meetings, and writing letters to veterans. I also got a majority of these 75+ service hours through a service trip for Hurricane cleanup in Florida and through the Luke 18 retreat, which is a confirmation retreat at my church. Before NHS, I regularly volunteered freshman and sophomore year as a parish school of religion teacher assistant most sunday mornings of the school year.
