Education History
In the last year, I have grown as a person by a significant margin. Even though I took honors classes as a freshman, there was not a need to put a lot of effort into my school work, and I still finished with all A’s or A-’s. I thought I could achieve the same success going into my sophomore year, but it did not end as nicely as I had anticipated. That year, I only had grades in the B- to B+ range. It was not because the classes were too hard; I never studied. I believed that was my academic peak at the time, and it was only going downhill from here. Towards the beginning of my junior year, I failed a test for the first time. I went into a panic state, and my brain slammed its metaphorical breaks. This was an epiphany for me. Without studying, it would be impossible to succeed in high school or college. Once I began to study every night, I realized my classes were not as hard as I thought. It was not as simple as freshmen year, but my grades turned from D’s and B’s into B’s and A’s. I wasn’t getting straight A’s, but I knew I was learning and enjoying it. It felt good to understand what was going on in class again. I finished junior year with an overall GPA of 3.566 and this semester with a 4.167. Giving a full effort has taught me that my mindset is the only thing stopping me from achieving my goals, and I am looking forward to pursuing veterinarian school.
Additional Info
After I finish senior year of high school, I will be attending University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
Additional Info
I have taken two semesters worth of graphic art and design. During my times in graphics, my teacher allowed me to put my emotions into my art; I was given a pathway to show others who I am.
Awards
During my forth season as a cross country runner I was given the "Most Improved Runner" award.
Additional Info
I have run either track or cross country every year since I was in 2nd grade, but I was always around the middle of the pack. My mile time at the beginning of high school was 7:18, and I consistently ran sub 22 minute 5K’s during cross country. Having the same mentality in running as in school, I didn’t even break 20 minutes in the 5K my sophomore year, but I did run a 5:20 mile during track. Again, junior year was a big turning point for me, and I ran a 18:41 5K. Learning how to improve as a runner was just as easy as learning how to improve as a student. The only thing I had to do was put in the effort. At the beginning of this last summer, I told myself I wanted to break eighteen minutes in cross country and five minutes in the mile for track. I went to summer running everyday, and I pushed myself to stick with our top five runners during workouts. It was difficult at first, but my hard work paid off this season. I ran varsity for the first time, was the ninth runner on the team, and ran a 17:58 for my last 5K.
Employment History
I worked at Subway two summers in a row. I chose not to work during the school year because I wanted to focus on my school work.

History
Last spring, I volunteered as an assistant coach for the Lakeville Elementary Track Team. The children were too young to understand what each event was, but I still had fun helping them with their event or talking about their favorite video games.
Additional Info
I plan on helping elementary track team again this spring.
